1. What Ghost Does

Ghost is a browser extension and web service that generates private email aliases so you can sign up to websites without exposing your real email address. Emails sent to your aliases are forwarded to your real inbox through our alias provider.

2. Data We Collect

• Account email address — collected at signup via Clerk to identify your account.
• Email alias metadata — the alias email addresses assigned to your account, stored in our database.
• Emails received to your aliases — stored temporarily to power inbox scanning and verification code detection. Emails are end-to-end encrypted at rest.
• Sender rules — the per-sender rules you configure (relay, block, trial, etc.).

3. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your browsing history.
• We do not track which websites you visit.
• We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.
• We do not use your data for advertising.

4. The Extension

The Ghost browser extension stores your identity aliases locally in chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves your browser except to make authenticated API calls to ghostmyinbox.com on your behalf. The extension reads the current page domain to suggest the right autofill identity — this domain information is not logged or stored.

5. Third-Party Services

• SimpleLogin — provides the email aliasing infrastructure. See simplelogin.io/privacy.
• Resend — delivers transactional emails. See resend.com/privacy.

6. Data Retention

Emails forwarded to your aliases are stored for a limited period and can be permanently deleted from your inbox at any time. You can delete your entire account and all associated data at any time from your dashboard settings ("Ghost Nuke").

7. Your Rights

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email. The latest version is always at ghostmyinbox.com/privacy.
